Armchair by Aksel Bender Madsen & Ejner Larsen
“Metropolitan Chair”, designed by Ejner Larsen & Aksel Bender Madsen in 1950. Made from beech and sculpted teak plywood where the backrest is made from a single piece. Beech plugs hide the screw holes and make a great addition to the design. The “Metropolitan Chair” got its breakthrough at “The Arts of Denmark” exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, in 1960. The chair has since become an icon of Danish midcentury design.
